activPAL
activPAL is a posture tracking device. Participants in many of our studies wear these on their thigh for one week at some point in the study. It is a miniature logger that electronically records position, activity, and step rate of the individual. From this information, we can determine how much time was spent doing various activities throughout the day.

Fitbit
Fitbit is a wrist worn activity monitor and smart watch that records various different health measures such as sleep, activity, and many other options! We link the information Fitbit gets along with other measures we collect to understand different elements of 24 hour behaviors to support our studies.

GeneActiv
GeneActiv is a wrist-worn accelerometer. This means, participants will wear this much like a watch and the device will collect data on light, temperature, and movement in three directions. This is used for collecting movement data and understanding how individuals spend their time.

Raspberry Pi
Raspberry Pi is a very small computer that can be utilized in a variety of different ways. We use it to help the study devices in one of our projects all 'talk' to each other. Once it is programmed and plugged in, it takes information from different sources and sends it all into our study specific app.
